USER RESEARCH SUMMARY

I used the data from the Post to Post usability study to develop interview questions, which were then used to conduct user interviews. Most interview participants reported feeling anxious about their career opportunities and feel they are unprepared for a civilian or corporate job. Users expressed wanting a more personalized experience. Most users enjoyed connecting with other veterans through our services and felt the app gave them hope to further their job opportunities. The feedback received through research made it very clear that users enjoyed our platform but wanted help in furthering their education and a more personalized experience.

DIGITAL WIREFRAMES

After ideating and drafting wireframes, I created the initial designs for the Post to Post app. These designs focused on delivering personalized career choices to users.

LOW-FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

To prepare for usability testing, I created a low-fidelity prototype that connected the user flow filling out the user jobs matching application and picking possible jobs of interests to apply for.

Insight 3

APP MOCKUPS

Based on the insights from the usability studies, I applied design changes like providing job search filters and additional instructional text for the job search page.

Further design changes included adding more options to the user questionnaire to give a more personalized experienced better suited to each individual user.

HIGH FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

The high-fidelity prototype followed the same user flow as the low-fidelity prototype, including design changes made after the usability study.

RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGNS AND WEBSITE

The designs for screen size variation included mobile, tablet, and desktop. I optimized the designs to fit specific user needs of each device and screen size.

WEBSITE MOCKUPS

Users shared that the app made them more hopeful for finding a career after their service. Users showed a signs of happiness connecting with mentors and other veterans on the same path as them.

I learned that even though the problem I was trying to solve was a big one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.
